    The Process

Coffee farmers carefully handpick ripe, red cherries during the critical harvest season to ensure high-quality beans.

After harvesting, farmers gather under the shade to meticulously sort the cherries, removing any extraneous matter such as leaves, twigs, or stones that may have mixed in during picking.

The coffee then undergoes a floating process to separate less dense cherries, often affected by insect damage. The selected cherries are then spread on African drying beds under the hot tropical sun of the Rwenzori Rift Valley. They are regularly turned for even drying until they reach the ideal moisture content of 12%.

Once fully dried, the coffee is taken to hulling facilities, where it is milled into green bean FAQ (Fair Average Quality). Farmers then deliver the FAQ to Agri  Evolve, where they receive a fair price for their high-quality produce.

The FAQ undergoes further processing, passing through a pre-cleaner, destoner, classifier, and color sorter before being carefully bagged for export

    The Region

Mount Elgon, an extinct volcano straddling the border between Uganda and Kenya, is renowned for its exceptional coffee. Grown at high altitudes on the mountain's slopes, Mount Elgon coffee is often characterized by its bright acidity, complex flavors, and notes of citrus and berries. The region's unique terroir, with its volcanic soils and diverse microclimates, contributes to the exceptional quality of the coffee produced here.
